Food Chama Enactors

We are a non-profit organization that endeavors to combat household food insecurity in poverty stricken areas especially in informal settlements/slums. We believe that it is the right of every individual to be free from effects of food insecurity or to be free from hunger as stipulated in the 1974 World Food Conference held in Rome, Italy
Our mission is enshrined in our commitment to promote: Economic stability which will enhance food affordability. Partnerships with other organizations to contribute to socio and physical transformation of households. Public Awareness that enhances informed understanding on food security, act of sharing, involvement and coexistence. Justice That seeks to change unjust structures affecting the poor among whom we work.
We envision a humanity where every family/households in the slums enjoy the life experience in its reality in availability of food. A society where they are fed looked after and get to enjoy a balanced nutritious diet to enable them be impactors wholeheartedly of their future lives. Where the notions of I can't diminish; and that of I can't furnishes. Where children are food assured, families hunger denied, togetherness valued and the issue of food security solved once and for all.

Promote empowerment

We stand in solidarity with people living in poverty and support their efforts to take control of their own lives and fulfill their rights, responsibilities and aspirations. We ensure that participants and organizations representing people living in poverty, especially in the informal settlements, are partners at all stages in our programs.

Ensuring Accountability

We propagate for ways in which the public whom we serve as well as our partners can hold us accountable. FCE seeks and identifies individuals and organizations that share same goal as ours of impacting on the lives of the poor and marginalized persons, and work together in unilateral partnership to be able to fulfill both our responsibilities

Tackling responsibilities

We believe that every person deserves to be treated equally and provided for equally especially by the government which they elected. Hence, we stand in condemnation of any discrimination based on social class, disability, ethnicity, gender, religion or any other act that is opposite to the human rights phenomenon

Sustainable goals

In the wake of addressing causes of food insecurity and poverty, FCE develops ways and approaches that result in lasting and fundamental improvements in the lives of the people we serve, particularly those in the informal settlements. We enshrine our efforts in the establishment of Food Chamas as a foundational solution to the food insecurity menace.

We partner with other organizations and individuals to maximize the impact of our programs, building alliances and partnerships with those who offer: Complementary approaches; Ability to scale up effective solutions, A demonstrated responsibility to fulfill rights and reduce poverty through policy change and implementation
