Mr. John M.M, Head of FCE Aid Stability, which is part of the FCE departmental for seasonal response network, says:
"The rise of the high cost of living and increase in food will cause many families, especially in the informal settlements miss out on the merry of this festive season. This means affected households are likely going to miss out on having at least a good meal for the festivities since families are unable to raise at least food for themselves, unable to pay their rent, forced out of employment on redundancy grounds, women and children are often the most vulnerable"
FCE in conjunction with community leaders in the informal Mathare slums, various donors, and well-wishers is pilling a response address to this timely eventual possibility. We are planning to support some 50 families in Mathare slums with food essentials including Wheat flour, cooking oil, rice, and vegetables, among others. Many families are not able to sustain themselves and they need our collective support to help them through this and grant them an opportunity to at least experience joy for once during this festive season and by extension their livelihood.
